After years of wrangling over the export and import of AI chip components made by US companies, they have finally allowed these components to be sold in the Chinese market, but since the country has already started producing its own AI processing components, China’s biggest tech companies are not allowed to buy the AI chips.
Recently, it was reported that due to the shortage of AI processing chips, the Chinese government is reportedly considering allowing these companies to buy these components, especially the NVIDIA H200 AI processing chip.
These companies include big names like Alibaba, ByteDance, Tencent and DeepSeek, which are developing their own speech modeling technology. All of these companies are also developing their own AI processing components to avoid dependence on external components, especially with the industry currently facing supply constraints.
Due to this, the Chinese government is reportedly considering authorizing the purchase of NVIDIA H200 chips, to ensure that their AI technology development does not face any delay issues.
