Lately, more people are spending their time following video sharing – regardless of whether it’s on YouTube, Instagram or TikTok. Recognizing this change in usage patterns, Facebook has now announced that they will soon begin testing the main view of the Facebook mobile app, by displaying full-screen video content – more or less like TikTok.
With this step, as soon as you open the Facebook app, you will see the full video, and can scroll up and down to see other videos. Facebook says this feature will be tested in several countries that see high video consumption, before expanding or fully implementing it.
However, Facebook says they will also provide users with the option to view the Feed view as it is, and can adjust the settings in the app.
Facebook says they have been operating for 20 years, and with the changing ways of consuming and sharing content, they also want to optimize their product in line with it.
