Last week, we reported that the Johor state government was taking a serious view of the Network School operation in Bandar Iskandar Puteri, Johor due to concerns over individuals who are allowed to operate in the city and have Israeli citizenship and who enter Malaysia using passports from other countries.
Most recently, in a statement issued by the Corporate and Public Relations Department of the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP), the Special Full Meeting of the city council has decided to stop the operations of NSO Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Network School) effective July 22, 2026, following non-compliance with the licensing and use conditions of premises under the jurisdiction of the local authority.
Through a statement issued by MBIP, Network School has two premises in Bandar Iskandar Puteri. The first location, located at P-01-11, Teluk Bintang, Jalan Forest City 5, does not have any business license and has been instructed to stop its business operations immediately.
For the second location, located at P-01-12, Teluk Bintang, Jalan Forest City 5, its business license has been revoked and it has been ordered to cease operations immediately for carrying out business activities that are different from the approved approval. The revocation of this business license was carried out under the Trade, Business and Industrial Licensing By-Laws (MBIP 2018).
Johor Chief Minister Onn Hafiz Ghazi said that the decision was made based on the process and provisions of the law in force, after reviewing the inspection report, enforcement findings and representations submitted by the company.
He also said that the Johor government always welcomes investments that benefit the economy by creating job opportunities and driving state development, but no investor, company or organization can be placed above the rule of law in the country.
Government bodies such as the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN), the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM), the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and security agencies are urged to continue investigations and take strict action if there is misuse of second passports, misrepresentation of identity or any offence under Malaysian law.
