Anyone who has ever tried to move from iOS to Android must have many horror stories, such as not being able to restore WhatsApp messages that were previously locked in iCloud. WhatsApp made the migration process easier a few years ago.
Now, after the Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 series were launched as the first Android 17 devices on the market, the Android Switch app has also been updated to make it even easier to migrate iOS data to Android.
As promised at Google I/O in May, Android Switch has been updated with the ability to transfer almost all data from an iPhone to a new Android phone. When we say almost, only 1 in 30 data can be transferred yet. Among the data that can now be transferred are iMessage, eSIM, passwords, Passkeys, Wi-Fi passwords and more.
Google is working with Apple to make the data migration process easier. With the new Android Switch installed on the Z Fold8 and Z Flip8, 97% of data can be transferred wirelessly. In the previous version, transferring the majority of data had to be done with a cable connection. The complete list of data that can be transferred from iPhone to Android is as follows

The new Android Switch is now available on all Android 17 devices and Pixel 8 and above. It will also be available via Samsung Smart Switch on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 series devices. It will be supported on more Android devices soon.
