Qualcomm, one of the leading processor chip manufacturers for smartphones, is now reportedly planning to increase the price of their processor chips, which is expected to have an impact on the selling price of smartphones in the future.
Qualcomm is said to have started informing its customers, saying that the price increase will take effect in September. This price increase is expected to be around a double-digit percentage – showing a fairly high increase.
Qualcomm is said to be no longer able to absorb the increase in costs from suppliers, and has also tried to obtain alternative components from new sources. However, like other semiconductor industries, it is seen that demand and the development of data centers around the world are suddenly increasing, making manufacturers focus more on production for it, thus having an impact on other sectors.
