Network security is now increasingly challenging due to the increase in digital threats such as system intrusion, data theft, fraudulent calls (scams) and attempts to steal information through fake links (phishing).
To address these threats, CelcomDigi has introduced a new network security system known as Voice Firewall. This technology is built into the company's core network and functions to filter suspicious calls before customers can answer.
It also analyzes traffic patterns and risk indicators with reliable accuracy, thus providing additional protection to users from unwanted calls. If a call is suspected to be a scam, the user's device will display a 'Suspected Scam' warning.
Since the trial began last July, the system has detected 355 million suspicious calls, including 217 million robocalls. This step demonstrates their commitment to implementing new initiatives to improve network security in line with customers' needs for safer communication. This effort also complements the existing SMS Firewall which filters malicious messages.
