Huawei is seen trying to steal attention by introducing its latest foldable phone, the Mate XT 2, which is scheduled to arrive on September 7, 2026 in China. An official promotional image shared on Weibo a few days ago has sparked speculation that it could be a new third-generation foldable phone, continuing the continuity of the previous Mate XT series.
The official poster so far only shows gradient-colored graphics without revealing the actual design of the device. Its specifications are also still a question mark, adding an element of surprise ahead of the launch. This move, however, is not surprising because Huawei usually launches the Mate series in early September every year and this time's schedule seems to remain consistent.
Interestingly, the launch of this device is expected to take place close to Apple's annual event, which is rumored to introduce the iPhone 18 series and possibly their first foldable phone. This development directly increases the competition between the two big tech companies, with Huawei choosing to present their new device close to Apple's announcement.
