Last April, the Dreame Nebula Next 01 Jet Edition was shown in San Francisco as an electric vehicle (EV) equipped with a jet propulsion system. Dreame said that this hyper vehicle can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 0.9 seconds using two solid-fuel rocket engines in the rear.
However, now the production of the Nebula Next 01 Jet Edition has been stopped and Dreame has also withdrawn from EV production according to a report by Elektrek. A total of 1000 Dreame employees involved in the EV development project are believed to be affected by the termination of the project.
The report said that the announcement of the hyper car and entering the EV arena was just a marketing and fundraising effort by the company. After this, the company will only focus on the production of vacuum robots and several other smart products for home use.
Dreame is another company that has buried its aspirations to enter the increasingly competitive EV market this year. Honda and Sony canceled their EV projects a few months ago due to market challenges that are increasingly dominated by Chinese manufacturers.
