OpenAI, the parent company behind ChatGPT, today announced that their artificial intelligence model now has over 1 billion active users, and is also used by over 2 million enterprises worldwide.
This simultaneously positions OpenAI as the world's leading AI service provider. According to the latest data shared by Google, they have around 950 million active users for Gemini - the closest competitor to OpenAI or ChatGPT.
The latest model offered by OpenAI is GPT-5.6 which comes in three variants, and the most powerful is called “Sol”. OpenAI itself has recently structured their offering more and not focused on everything as before, and has discontinued the Sora video generator service, in addition to their Atlas web browser.
Moving forward, now various providers are starting to compete with their respective agent-based AI offerings, which allow users to automate a number of tasks easily and quickly.
