Robots in China Successfully Break Usain Bolt's 100m Record

In China, robot development is moving very quickly, and to show their capabilities, various companies participated in the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing which competed in various sports events involving robots.

One of them was the 100-meter race. At the event, the robot developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center won the 100-meter race, with a record of only 9.39 seconds.

Meanwhile, the robot developed by Honor ranked second in the 100-meter race with a speed of 9.47 seconds. Both robots also surpassed the record previously held by Usain Bolt at a speed of 9.58 seconds. However, although some of these robots can accelerate quickly, they still have a limit to stopping well after finishing the race.

At the robot sports championship event held in China for the second time, more than 2,000 robots participated, and demonstrated the capabilities of technological developments, especially in the field of robotics. This tournament also shows drastic developments in this arena, with several participants from countries outside China, including Germany and Japan.

Previously, the Honor robot has also set a record in the marathon event, and will also make an appearance in Malaysia in conjunction with the National Day parade on 31 August 2026.
