Last week, we reported on the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5 which has just been introduced for the global market. Recently, Sennheiser Malaysia has just confirmed that pre-orders for these earphones will open soon.
These earphones are the first TWS with easily replaceable earbud batteries and charging pods. Both components have screws that allow the battery to be accessed when needed. This is a far cry from the design using pictures that make the replacement process impossible. This feature was given by Sennheiser to meet EU requirements that require electronic device batteries to be replaced by the owner.
In addition to the easy-to-replace battery, the Momentum True Wireless 5 comes with 7mm TrueResponse audio drivers. There is aptX Lossless and Dolby Atmos support along with head tracking. Six microphones and 2 accelerometers are included to support ANC and provide good conversational audio quality.
Battery life is up to 12 hours without ANC and 40 hours with the help of the charging pod. Each earbud passes the IP54 splash water standard, making it sweat-proof during exercise. Pairing is via Bluetooth 6.0 with support for Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair.
According to a press release shown for the Malaysian market, as well as a report from LowYat.Net, pre-orders for the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5 earphones will be introduced on 27 August 2026 via their online store and official Sennheiser product distributors. Open sales will begin on 3 September 2026.
