NVIDIA is ready to invest in various artificial intelligence companies – in the hope that the companies will stick with their chips and technology offerings as they grow. Most recently, NVIDIA is also reportedly in talks to invest in Perplexity.
It is said that Perplexity is in talks to raise a new investment fund that values the company at around $30 billion. For your information, NVIDIA has previously invested in Perplexity, and the new investment is expected to further strengthen NVIDIA’s equity stake in Perplexity.
Perplexity was popular as an AI-powered search engine before, but its popularity waned after OpenAI and others also integrated live search support. Recently, Perplexity introduced Perplexity Cloud which seems to have its own fans, where it offers cloud-based AI agents, as well as automating a number of tasks through it.
For now, NVIDIA and Perplexity have not issued any official comments regarding this.
