As promised, the Sony Xperia 10 VIII was officially launched today. In terms of specifications, this new model still maintains the chip, battery and overall performance as last year. However, significant improvements are present in the display, camera and software even though the processing chip has not changed.
The Sony Xperia 10 VIII comes with a minimalist design without a notch or perforated screen. It is matched with a 6.1″ FHD+ OLED screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and is advertised as 50% brighter than the previous model. This device uses the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip as the Xperia 10 VII along with 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage and the Android 16 operating system. It is also equipped with a dual-camera system with a 50MP main sensor measuring 1/1.56 inches and a 13MP ultra-wide.
The 5000mAh battery used can last up to two days of use. The company has also retained the iconic physical camera shutter button while improving speaker support for better sound. In addition, Sony has introduced a new ‘Point & Pay’ function that allows users to press the power button twice to quickly access a QR code for payment.
The Sony Xperia 10 VIII is priced at €599 (~RM2,824) and will be available in Europe around mid-to-late September 2026. Sony has also confirmed that the device will be brought to the Malaysian market, but an official launch date has not yet been announced.
