Honor is seen trying to change the concept of the latest flagship series Honor Magic 9 by focusing on more professional photography. This strategy directly targets photography and videography enthusiasts who want a lightweight device but have the capabilities of a medium film camera
Early promotional images show a horizontal camera bar that houses three bumps with one of them being larger than the others. This design clearly brings a difference compared to the previous Magic series. The bump also features ARRI branding while next to it is a square-shaped sensor that hints at periscope zoom support. This collaboration with ARRI not only helps to improve Honor's reputation, but also adds confidence in the camera capabilities offered by this device.
More interestingly, Honor will also introduce its own additional telephoto accessory that gives users the advantage of recording subjects at a distance. With a choice of 200mm and 500mm lenses, the photography experience will be more free through an easy-to-handle device. In fact, this concept was actually introduced in the Magic 8 series before, but it is believed that the user experience will be better later.
In terms of specifications, this device is expected to come with a dual 200MP camera that is capable of producing high-quality images suitable for professional photography and videography. The official launch will take place in China on September 28, 2026 with more key features to be revealed from time to time. Interestingly, one of the models in this series, the Magic 9 Pro Max, has also made an official appearance at the Venice Film Festival, Italy, thus adding exclusive value to its first appearance.
