Vivo has introduced OriginOS 7 globally, with availability starting today via the Preview Program (open beta). Based on Android 17, the operating system emphasizes long-term fluidity, AI integration, an engaging interface, ecosystem connectivity, as well as security and energy efficiency.
Key features of OriginOS 7 include more natural animations and the Snap-Up Engine, which ensures rapid performance during critical scenarios such as ticket purchasing. A new memory management strategy, backed by 72-month durability testing, guarantees a consistently smooth user experience, while Memory Fusion and Dual Rendering enhance storage and display efficiency.
OriginOS 7 also features the Jovi personal assistant, equipped with capabilities for document handling, voice transcription, AI summarization, and Snap Note. The Smart Call Assistant allows AI to answer calls and generate conversation summaries, while AI Reader Mode facilitates PDF reading. AI Search enables file retrieval without needing the exact filename, and Snap & Go automatically converts ticket screenshots into calendar events.
The Immersive Home function displays dynamic lighting that shifts between day and night, combined with translucent materials in Realistic, Natural, and Soft styles. Engaging themes like Wiggle, StickIt, Pet Pals, and Glint add visual appeal, while AOD Live Updates allow users to view key information at a glance without unlocking the screen. Additionally, OriginOS 7 enhances cross-device connectivity with support for using the phone camera on a PC, integration with Apple Watch and AirPods, and iCloud access.
Security Shield detects application and network threats while automatically suggesting permission management to protect user privacy. The BlueVolt Smart Engine reduces power consumption by up to 25% during high-resolution video calls on Microsoft Teams. Extended Connected Standby and Heterogeneous Computing further conserve energy, while Bypass Charging 3.0 helps preserve battery health. OriginOS 7 begins its phased rollout today for the vivo X300 Pro and selected iQOO devices in India, Thailand, and Malaysia. It will subsequently be available on the X500 series as well as the new X Fold and V series. However, feature availability may vary by market.
