Tesla Launches Robotex Service Without Steering Wheel and Control Pedals

Tesla officially launched its robotex service without steering wheel and control pedals in the cabin in Austin, Texas yesterday. This makes Tesla the third company after Zoox and Waymo to offer robotex without steering wheel and control pedals in the United States

The service was launched almost two years after the Cybercab was shown to the public. At this point, the service is still limited to Austin only. Each new Cybercab robotex can carry two passengers with only a storage space in the rear without a front frunk. The Cybercab has two scissor-folding doors that open and close automatically.

Inside the cabin, there is a screen in the middle that displays driving information and can also be used by passengers to watch videos such as YouTube and Netflix. Through the same screen, passengers can also control the position of the seat. At the bottom of the screen is a USB-C charging port for smart devices.

Tesla's long-term plan is to sell the Cybercab for around $30,000 each, which will then be used as a source of income by the owner.
