Xiaomi 18 Fold will be Xiaomi's first wide-angle foldable phone. Interestingly, the brand chose a launch strategy two days before Apple's annual event, thus stealing the spotlight.
The phone has been on display at IFA 2026 Berlin since yesterday, but only behind glass and cannot be touched. Several internal components were also revealed through promotional images on Weibo, including a 6,000mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging support. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 comes with a 4,800mAh battery only.
Xiaomi 18 Fold will be powered by the brand's own new chip, the Xring O3, and will be the first phone with LPDDR6-based memory. It comes with a 200MP (1/1.56-inch) main camera, a 50MP periscope with 3.5x zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide. All of these rear cameras use Leica Summilux lenses. Xiaomi also claims that the device can withstand drops of up to 1.2 meters.
For now, the launch is only confirmed for the Chinese market with no certainty whether it will be marketed globally or not.
