A few days ago, Apple updated the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the option of an M6 chip. Today, the company has officially unveiled a new MacBook Pro model featuring a touchscreen PROLED XDR display. This long-awaited model is available in two screen sizes: 14 inches and 16 inches.
In terms of specifications, the MacBook Pro (PROLED XDR) boasts a display panel with brightness reaching up to 2,000 nits and a contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1—bringing display technology comparable to the Studio Display XDR to a laptop. The device also features a 120Hz refresh rate and incorporates the "Dynamic Island"—a popular feature from the iPhone—to display information, alongside a 12MP Center Stage camera. It is powered by either the Apple M5 Pro or M5 Max processor; the M6 chip is not currently an option.
Designed with a touchscreen, this laptop caters to professional users who require fingertip control—ideal for tasks such as 3D modeling, video editing, music production, and various other creative endeavors. Furthermore, the Apple logo on the lid now lights up, a feature that has returned for the first time in about a decade. The MacBook Pro (PROLED XDR) is also lighter than its predecessors while retaining support for Thunderbolt 5, HDMI, SDXC cards, MagSafe, and an audio jack. The MacBook Pro, featuring a touchscreen ProLED XDR Display, is available in various configurations; the 14-inch M5 Pro model starts at RM11,999, while the 16-inch M5 Pro model starts at RM14,499. Pre-orders begin on October 30, with availability starting November 6. If you opt for the M5 Max chip, 128GB of memory, 16TB of storage, and select the maximum specifications for all other options, the price can reach RM64,174.
