Bluesky is a widely used decentralized social service. Currently, users can employ their own custom domains or use Bluesky-provided domains for their usernames, which follow the format `<name>.bsky.social`. However, this is expected to change if Bluesky succeeds in securing the `.bsky` domain extension.
Reports indicate that Bluesky has submitted an application for the `.bsky` domain extension. It remains unknown whether the application will be approved. If successful, users would be able to have usernames ending in `.bsky`—for example, `<name>.bsky`.
In addition to Bluesky, Telegram previously announced that it had filed an application for the `.gram` domain extension, which would facilitate communication and money transfers within its service.
