Garmin has launched its latest smartwatch, the Approach S72, including in the Malaysian market. While the series is dedicated to golf, this model features a more modern look compared to previous generations, boasting a design that is lighter, thinner, durable, and comfortable to wear.
The watch comes in two sizes—43mm and 47mm—featuring an AMOLED display, titanium bezel, sapphire crystal, and a fabric strap. Key highlights include the ability to display heart rate alongside game scores, as well as pre-loaded data for over 43,000 golf courses worldwide.
It can also record swing speed, backswing length, and wrist rotation during the swing, providing analysis via the Garmin Golf app. Features such as Green Reading and Aerial Imagery are available, though full access requires a paid Garmin Golf membership.
Beyond golf-specific features, the Approach S72 supports health monitoring functions such as ECG, blood oxygen levels, Training Readiness, stress tracking, sleep monitoring, and Body Battery energy monitoring. Both models are equipped with a built-in speaker and microphone, making them the first golf watches to support phone calls and voice commands.
The 47mm model offers up to 20 hours of battery life in golf mode and 16 days as a smartwatch, while the 43mm model provides up to 15 hours on the course and 10 days as a smartwatch. In Malaysia, the Garmin Approach S72 is priced at RM3,599 for both sizes, with sales commencing on October 30, 2026, through authorized Garmin Malaysia dealers.
