The Rakyat Digital initiative was introduced late last August, offering a free three-month artificial intelligence (AI) service subscription to individuals aged 18 to 30. During the Budget 2027 presentation, the Prime Minister announced that the Rakyat Digital program would continue next year, providing an additional 100,000 free subscriptions.
Also announced for this year's initiative is access to ChatGPT subscriptions—an option that was not available previously. Prior to this, only Google, ILMUchat (by YTL AI Labs), MuleRun (by Alibaba Cloud), and WonderClip (by Alibaba Cloud) were included in the offering.
The Rakyat Digital platform also provides free access to digital courses through a partnership with Coursera, enabling users to take over 16,000 courses and Professional Certificate programs from leading global universities and industry organizations.
