If you utilize services at Malaysian government health clinics—particularly those outside the Klang Valley—you are likely aware that many of these facilities still record patient details manually using pen and paper.
The Ministry of Health Malaysia, in collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, has already begun digitizing health clinics in stages. It has now been announced that RM1 billion will be allocated to digitize patient medical records across all Ministry of Health clinics nationwide, rather than limiting the initiative to specific locations.
The benefits of digitizing these medical records include enabling the public to schedule appointments at Ministry of Health clinics, view their prescribed medications, and access the diagnoses provided by the attending doctors.
