Logitech MX Master 4 Special Developer Edition Introduced to Celebrate Programmers

Earlier this month, Logitech unveiled its latest office productivity mouse, the Logitech MX Master 4, which has also been introduced to the local market with a price tag of RM569. Now, the company has launched a special edition tailored for software developers and programmers: the Logitech MX Master 4 Special Developer Edition.

This mouse shares the same internal specifications and features as the standard Logitech MX Master 4, but with a more distinctive aesthetic. First, it features a two-tone grey and black color scheme. Second, it incorporates the text "Hello World"—a classic phrase used to test whether a program can produce basic output.

Furthermore, it includes the programming term "0xFF"—representing the number 255, which is the maximum value that can be stored in an 8-bit byte. This also signifies International Programmer's Day (celebrated on the 256th day of each year). Other references include "September 17," the date the Linux operating system kernel was first introduced, and "!04.01," a nod to World Backup Day, which is typically observed on March 31st.

Like the standard Logitech MX Master 4, this Special Developer Edition comes with impressive features, including a haptic button system, a customizable "Actions Ring" for shortcuts (configurable via software), and the MagSpeed scroll wheel, which allows for scrolling through up to 1,000 lines per second with high precision.

The mouse is already listed on the Logitech Malaysia website, though no price is currently displayed. According to the official press release, it will be priced the same as the existing MX Master 4 model. If true, the price of this special edition mouse for the Malaysian market is also RM569.
