AMD Announces $1 Billion Investment in Meta Equity Offering

AMD and Meta have announced the expansion of their strategic partnership to build and operate next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, including Meta’s “superintelligence” systems. AMD currently supplies technology—spanning CPUs, GPUs, networking, systems, and software—for Meta’s data centers.

AMD also announced a $1 billion (~RM 4.08 billion) investment in a Meta equity offering. This announcement follows NVIDIA’s statement that it would invest $3 billion (~RM 12.24 billion) in a Meta equity offering, further strengthening the partnership between those two companies.

The collaboration between AMD and Meta is further bolstered by the deployment of AMD Helios racks within Meta’s data centers, which are currently undergoing testing. These are expected to serve as the foundation for the broader adoption of advanced AI models and Meta’s AI services.

Meanwhile, AMD EPYC processors are being used in the computing environments that support Meta’s personal AI agent, Muse. Meta has utilized millions of EPYC processors across several generations and is a key customer for the sixth generation of EPYC CPUs.
