Anduril and Qualcomm Announce 'BlueChip' Laptops for Military and Government Use

Anduril and Qualcomm have launched 'BlueChip,' an initiative aimed at revitalizing the computer manufacturing industry in the United States. The first product under the BlueChip initiative is a rugged laptop powered by a Snapdragon X Series chip.

The laptop features a metal chassis and includes attachment points for straps, allowing it to be carried over the shoulder while in operational zones. Anduril founder Palmer Luckey noted that the showcased laptop is a basic prototype; it is designed to support accessories such as solar panels and antennas—mounted on the lid—to facilitate field communications.

BlueChip targets the government, defense sector, emergency services, and other critical industries. All technologies and components used are entirely manufactured within the United States. Furthermore, the laptops themselves are assembled in the U.S. to bolster the local supply chain.

BlueChip’s long-term strategy involves increasing the sourcing of domestic components, reducing reliance on foreign suppliers, and establishing a fully U.S.-based computer supply chain. The laptops are scheduled to go on sale in 2027, though full specifications and pricing have yet to be announced.
