Grand Theft Auto VI is officially set to go on sale starting November 19th, and as the launch approaches, various details have begun to leak. According to PlayStation Game Size, this highly anticipated video game will reach a size of 210GB.
This is a substantial size, especially considering that its predecessor, GTA V, was only 120GB, while Red Dead Redemption 2 is approximately 116GB on the PlayStation 5. In fact, if this figure is accurate, GTA VI is even larger than the 191GB required for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
Until now, the Call of Duty series has been notorious for its massive download sizes—often requiring users to delete other games from their storage to make room. In an era where SSD storage is increasingly expensive and console storage is typically limited to around 500GB, this is bound to become an issue.
This large file size may be the reason why Rockstar Games has opted not to offer a physical disc version of GTA VI. Instead, purchasing a physical copy will only provide a code to download the game via an online storefront.
If you have already pre-ordered GTA VI, it will be available for download starting November 12th. Please ensure you delete older games beforehand to prepare for the download process.
