The new generation of smart glasses—Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 and Ray-Ban Meta Optics Gen 2—has arrived in the Malaysian market. These models retain Ray-Ban’s iconic style while incorporating cutting-edge technology from Meta, offering an engaging experience through built-in cameras, audio systems, and the Meta AI smart app.
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 represents the latest generation of smart glasses, blending modern technology with classic fashion. Available in three iconic designs—Wayfarer, Aviator, and Zena—they feature slimmer, ergonomic frames without compromising Ray-Ban’s original identity.
These glasses are equipped with a 12MP camera capable of recording video in up to 3K Ultra HD, allowing users to capture high-quality images and videos directly from the frames. The audio system utilizes six built-in microphones specifically designed for clear voice capture, making them ideal for both recording and voice calls.
Additionally, the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 features a dedicated camera button on the right temple, while touch sensors on both temples allow users to easily adjust speaker volume. In terms of connectivity, they support Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6 for stable, high-speed data transfer. The battery lasts up to eight hours of continuous use. An "action button" serves as a key advantage, simplifying controls and enhancing the overall smart user experience.
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 Optics model is designed specifically for those requiring prescription lenses. It is available in Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics styles, offering enhanced comfort and a wider range of lens strength options. In terms of specifications, it retains almost all features of the Gen 3 model, including a 12MP camera, a six-microphone audio system, and a battery capable of lasting up to eight hours. Additionally, the model comes with two sets of nose pads in the box to enhance comfort and allow wearers to customize the fit according to their individual needs.
Both eyewear models meet the IPX4 splash-proof standard and are equipped with the Meta AI virtual assistant, capable of accepting voice commands and identifying objects within the wearer's view. In Malaysia, the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 is priced at RM2,119, while the Ray-Ban Meta Optics (Gen 2) is offered at RM2,209.
Both models are available at Ray-Ban stores, EssilorLuxottica retail networks such as Sunglass Hut, A-Look, and SEEN, as well as selected authorized optical retailers across Malaysia. An exclusive pop-up event will also take place at The Starhill Piazza, Kuala Lumpur, from October 21 to November 1, 2026, featuring a smart AI experience, custom engraving for Ray-Ban Meta cases, and a full collection showcase.
