Spotify announced today that it will expand access to audiobooks to the Malaysian market by the end of 2026.
Spotify has been offering audiobook features to Spotify Premium subscribers in several countries for the past three years. Today, the company officially announced a global expansion of this service—including to Malaysia—by the end of 2026.
Spotify Premium subscribers will receive 12 hours of audiobook listening time per month. If users wish to listen for longer, they can subscribe to Audiobooks+ to continue listening beyond the 12 hours included with Spotify Premium.
Users also have the option to purchase specific audiobooks and save them to their accounts to listen to at any time.
With this development, we look forward to the introduction of the audiobook feature in Malaysia and the pricing for the additional access. Previously, Spotify announced the inclusion of AI-generated audiobooks and has also sold physical books in select markets.
