The government, through the Ministry of Digital, has announced an expansion of access to digital learning by adding 25,000 Global Learning Pass (GLP) licenses. These are available via the 'Rakyat Digital' portal—launched mid-year by MyDIGITAL Corporation—bringing the total number of available licenses to 50,000.
The encouraging initial response from the Malaysian public prompted the government to increase the number of licenses, reflecting a strong interest in digital upskilling through accessible learning opportunities.
These additional licenses will be offered in mid-November 2026 to the first 25,000 applicants on the waiting list. Those on the waiting list are advised to regularly check their registered email accounts—including their 'Spam' and 'Promotions' folders—for notifications and instructions on the next steps to secure their licenses.
With the GLP, Malaysians gain three months of free access to over 16,000 courses, guided projects, and professional certificates on Coursera, provided by world-leading universities and industry partners. This initiative supports the implementation of the 'Malaysia Digital 2030: Towards an AI Nation' (MD2030) action plan by building the skills of Malaysians, enabling them to participate in the growing digital economy—both locally and globally.
