Nearly 3,000 Courier Parcels Are Now Delivered Every Minute in Malaysia

Minister of Communications, Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, officiated National Courier Day 2026 today, during which he shared several compelling statistics regarding the courier industry in Malaysia.

Current data indicates that nearly 3,000 parcels are delivered every minute in Malaysia, involving a workforce of over 120,000 courier personnel. This reflects the healthy growth of the sector, which has expanded in tandem with the e-commerce boom in Malaysia.

On average, the volume of parcel deliveries has reached 5 million per day. If this rate continues through the end of the year, it is estimated that over 1.83 billion parcels will be delivered throughout 2026. For comparison, 1.57 billion parcels were delivered in 2025.

Additionally, the government announced that a new initiative will soon be piloted: the sharing of "last-mile" delivery networks. This effort aims to enhance delivery efficiency while simultaneously providing benefits to local consumers.
