The Penang state government has tabled its 2027 state budget, announcing several incentives set to be implemented starting in 2027.
One of the announced measures is a special one-off incentive of RM600 for e-hailing drivers in 2027. This incentive is reserved for drivers who meet specific eligibility criteria, with a total allocation of RM9 million. Approximately 15,000 drivers are expected to benefit from this initiative.
Additionally, couples who get married in Penang will receive a one-off contribution of RM500 under the 'i-Sejahtera' program. As with other such schemes, couples must meet the established eligibility requirements to qualify for this contribution.
Further details regarding both of these incentives are expected to be announced in 2027.
