Instagram disables the ability to share photo feeds to stories with multiple users. This is part of a test to see how it transforms user engagement with one of the most popular features on Instagram.
Instagram announced this change in the form of a banner to users in certain countries where testing is being done.
"We heard from our community that they would like to see fewer posts in Stories. During this test, you won't be able to add feed posts to your stories," Instagram told users who were part of the test.
Sharing posts from Instagram Feed to Stories is something most users do today. However, there are many similar posts, namely in other people’s feeds and stories.
Their purpose in re -posting from Feed to Stories is to open up opportunities for nonprofit organizations to get more donations.
For now, disabling content sharing from Feed to Stories is experimental only. Like Instagram changing the layout in its app.
However, this test time is the opposite of Twitter, where they are testing the ability to share tweets to Instagram Stories as stickers.
Therefore, when users rarely see content from feeds in stories, users can see more content in stories from Twitter.
