As an instant messaging app, Telegram continues to equip its platform with a variety of security features. Here are five Telegram security features you must know.
Telegram is WhatsApp's toughest competitor. Both offer the service for free, Telegram claims to come with layered security features.
Here are five Telegram security features:
1. Lock messages with the Lock Chat feature to prevent friends from getting lost
You may feel uncomfortable when chatting in public or around your friends for fear of the content of your message being told by others. Well, Telegram users can take advantage of the key chat feature so that the content of your message is not found by others.
Here's how, just click the Settings button - Privacy and Security - Passcode and Touch ID - Install PIN or Touch ID - Done. Your messages will be locked automatically after the app is not used for a few minutes or you can click the lock chat icon at the top of the Telegram app to activate this feature at any time.
2. Send secret messages with the Chat Secret feature
If you want to send a secret message, Telegram users can use the secret chat feature in Telegram. Through this feature, you can send secret messages to anyone you want. The secret chat feature in the Telegram app is encrypted end -to -end, so no third party can see your messages with others while using this feature, including Telegram.
To activate it, click the contact of the person you want to send the message to, then click their name, then click Start Secret Chat on another icon.
3. Log in with the Two -Step Authentication feature
Today, there are many applications that use the two -step authentication feature to increase the security of their users, Telegram is no exception. When enabled, this feature requires users to enter a password each time they log into their personal Telegram account via a new or old device.
This password is required as a complement to the OTP (one -time password only) that appears when a user installs a Telegram account on a new device. This function is very useful for protecting app user accounts from identity thieves who know the password and try to hack their Telegram account.
4. Supports proxy servers
In addition to the above three features, Telegram also supports proxy servers. This function allows users to hide their IP address by connecting their account to a special proxy server.
Basically, this feature works in the same way as a VPN connection that many people typically use to protect their identity on the internet. To activate this feature, you can go to Settings - Data and Storage - Proxy Settings.
5. Wrongly sending chat? Here's how!
Often we are so busy chatting that we make a mistake when sending a message. I was supposed to send it to my girlfriend, but that was the wrong target. If this happens to you, you do not have to worry because in the Telegram application you can delete messages that have been sent.
You can also delete messages that have been sent at any time and without a time limit. So if you want to delete a message sent a month ago, you can still do so.
