Security company Kaspersky says they have found many ISO 11 installation files of unknown origin spread on the internet. Specifically, this file does not contain the Windows 11 installation file, but installs viruses and trojans on the user’s computer.
According to a Kaspersky report, the circulating file is named 86307_windows 11 build 21996.1 x64 + activator.exe. The file is even advertised with the temptation to install Windows 11 build 21996.1 in a simple and easy way.
Even after installation, it will automatically activate the Windows 11 license. This file has a capacity of 1.75GB, so many users assume this is the official Windows 11. But in reality, most of these files consist of many DLL files that contain a lot of useless information.
While downloading 86307_windows 11 build 21996.1 x64 + activator.exe and extracting it, the user will see there are 2 different subfiles.exe. The first file.exe is the installer while the second file.exe is the downloader and even comes with a rarely read license agreement. If the user accepts the agreement, various malicious programs will be installed on his device.
Kaspersky says it has detected hundreds of cases of information theft, viruses and trojans related to Windows 11 installation files. A large number of Windows 11 installation files are malicious software, responsible for downloading other malicious programs, ranging from harmless adware to viruses. , trojans, spyware, information theft, and even extortion, as reported by MSPoweruser.
