Elon Musk is concerned about the increase in population on Earth, which he calls 'population collapse'. He also invited humans to move to Mars.
In fact, Musk’s call for colonization on Mars has resonated in recent years. Yet, tweeted on July 14, 2021, the father of seven once again discussed the issue of requiring Earthlings to migrate to the Red Planet.
"I'm trying to set a good example! Population collapse is a much bigger problem than people realize and only for Earth. Mars desperately needs humans, given that the current population is zero. Humans are the guardians of other life on Earth.!" He wrote on Twitter .
As reported by CNBCTV18, last February, the millionaire has also discussed to send humans to Mars and set a timeframe of about five and a half years. Musk has also listed a number of limitations that could hinder the timeline. He was already planning how to build Mars as an independent civilization and accompanied by technological advances.
Many criticized Musk’s plans and approach to sending humans into space. Activista, a Los Angeles -based creative agency, has placed a billboard outside its SpaceX California headquarters that reads ‘Mars Sucks’ by Earth Day 2021, implying that Musk could do more to save Earth than try to colonize Mars.
Like a report published in The Lancet last year, the Institute and Health Assessment Institute, University of Washington has stated that the threat of population collapse is quite real and cannot be ignored. The report says fertility rates around the world will experience a serious decline between the 2050s and 2100s.
