MediaTek introduced the Kompanio 1300T, a system on a chip (SoC) designed to deliver premium performance on tablet devices.
This SoC is made with 6nm manufacturing from TSMC, and is promised to have premium performance, advanced 5G technology, multimedia, AI, and gaming for a premium user experience.
The Kompanio 1300T enables OEMs to create powerful, lightweight, and portable tablets for online teaching and learning, business, streaming services, games, and AI applications.
“There is currently an increasing demand for personal computing devices designed for remote work and multimedia entertainment needs,” said PC Tseng, General Manager of the Smart Multimedia Business Unit at MediaTek.
“Our Kompanio chips allow manufacturers to design lightweight tablet and personal computing products with great performance and long battery life so they can bring innovative features and new mobile computing experiences to consumers,” he added.
The core in the Kompanio 1300T consists of the ARM Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores. Then the GPU is the Mali-G777 MC9, which is claimed to be capable of delivering high performance when playing games.
5G support on the Kompanio 1300T is at sub-6GHz, 5G-CA, and dual 5G SIM frequencies. There are also features of 5G Elevator Mode & 5G HSR mode, which allow users to enjoy high-speed connectivity in a variety of applications.
For multimedia, the Kompanio 1300T supports HDR10 +multi-scene technology, AI-PQ (picture quality) and a MediaTek chip-level eye protection engine to filter out blue light, in addition to support for two monitors with two full HD displays.
