The big Blue Origin day will take place today July 20, 2021 local time. For the first time, the space company brought a manned mission into space carrying four passengers.
The New Shepard, equipped with rockets and capsules, will be launched from west Texas, USA, at 09.00 EDT (13.00 GMT)
Prior to tomorrow’s flight stage, Blue Origin had conducted 15 unmanned tests, with one partial failure when the passenger capsule landed safely, but the booster rocket fell.
Come on in, take a look at the four Blue Origin passengers who are ready to try out the space tour on July 20, 2021:
1. Jeff Bezos
The name of this one is no stranger, as Jeff Bezos is the owner of Amazon and also the founder of Blue Origin. Bezos founded Blue Origin in 2000.
The participation of the world’s richest man in Blue Origin’s first manned mission seems to be so that the world can believe that space travel can be enjoyed by everyone.
Also, as a teenager, the bald -headed man had a simple and big dream, wanting to go into space like an astronaut. Of late he often uploads preparations for the space on Instagram.
2. Mark Bezos
Mark Bezos is the younger brother of Jeff Bezos who is also a wealthy man with interests in Amazon. Mark is a former executive and founder of private equity firm HighPost Capital.
Mark didn’t think that his brother asked him to join New Shepard into outer space.
3. Wally Funk
The old Wally Funk was very keen on reaching the zero gravity limit. He has been pursuing that dream since childhood.
Wally Funk, an 82 -year -old pilot and aviation pioneer. He had to wait 60 years to get to outer space. Previously, at the age of 21, Funk was one of the participants in the female astronaut training program, Woman in Space. Unfortunately, Funk’s dream had to run.
Funk will break the previous oldest human record held by John Glen who went into space with the STS-95 shuttle at the age of 77.
4. Oliver Daemen
Who would have thought that the last passenger on this Blue Origin -style space tour was an 18 -year -old teenager named Oliver Daemen.
Because, initially, Jeff Bezos will accompany the anonymous passenger who won the USD 28 million auction. However, in the latest development, he did not fly until he was replaced by Oliver.
Oliver’s father, Joes Daemen, also signed up for space travel, but he handed it over to his son. It doesn’t say how much he should pay, but it’s certainly not cheap.
