Take a look at Mark Zuckerberg’s Incredible Security Costs

Technology bosses like Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos and others are now just as important as heads of state. Their company also pours millions of dollars every year for the safety of its executives.
Based on the results of the Protocol analysis, the costs incurred by companies such as Apple, Facebook and Google for the personal security of their bosses increased in 2020. This increase was due to one major factor, namely the COVID-19 pandemic.

For example, in 2019 Facebook spent $ 20.4 million on Zuckerberg’s personal security. This figure jumped to USD 23.4 million by 2020.

Zuckerberg gets a security allowance of $ 10 million annually, and he gets an additional $ 13.4 million in 2020. Facebook says the increase is due to the COVID-19 protocol and additional security during the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

In a document submitted to the SEC, Facebook says Zuckerberg’s position is now identical to his company’s, as well as the negative sentiment around him. In April, Facebook also identified specific threats to Zuckerberg.

Since tech bosses have to work from home, companies have to pay more to make security in the CEO’s residence the same as security in the office. As Uber paid USD 120,000 to improve security and place security experts at the home of CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, as quoted from Protocol, Sunday (25/7/2021).

While Jeff Bezos as the richest man in the world receives a security payment of USD 1.6 million annually from Amazon, and the rest is borne by himself. In fact, Bezos ’mobile phone was hijacked via WhatsApp in 2018, allegedly by the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.

Here are the costs incurred by Silicon Valley companies for the personal security of tech bosses in 2020:
