Bill Gates is said to be friends with Jeffrey Epstein, a high -profile sex offender who has died in prison for suicide. It was also reported that Melinda Gates, his now divorced wife, was fed up. The founders of Microsoft finally discussed this.
Gates admits that his relationship with Epstein was a big mistake. Moreover, it seems that Epstein became an influential figure as he hung out with Gates and several other important figures before being arrested by the authorities.
“It’s a very big mistake to spend time with him, to give him credibility,” Gates said.
Gates said he met Epstein only in hopes of getting more donations to tackle global health problems and for no other purpose.
"I've had dinner with him a few times, hoping what he said about raising millions for charities for global health through his relationship could happen. When it doesn't seem to be happening, then the relationship is over," Bill Gates said.
Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges of controlling a minor child sex network. Previously, he was happy to approach the elite including Bill Gates.
On whether his close relationship with Epstein was the reason Melinda divorced him, Bill Gates declined to comment. For now, according to him, the most important thing is to recover and contemplate divorce.
"This is a time for reflection and at this point, I have to move forward. In a family, we will heal," Bill Gates said.
