The Pad 5 marks Xiaomi's return to the tablet realm, having last released a tablet in 2015 with the Mi Pad 4. The design of the Pad 5 itself is not at all similar to the Mi Pad 4, and the screen size differs greatly.

Fast chipset
As the brain, Xiaomi chose Snapdragon 860, the same as used in the Poco X3 Pro, paired with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Snapdragon 860 is not the newest, but it is equivalent to a flagship processor a year or two back. However, this does not mean that the performance is bad, because the Snapdragon 860 is a very capable processor for now. Also helped by the 120Hz screen which makes animations very smooth. Then the MIUI version that is used is also version 12.5, which is much lighter than MIUI 12.
Quad stereo speakers
Not just a charming screen for watching videos, the Pad 5 is also supported by capable speakers. Namely quad stereo speakers, aka two speakers on each side supported by Dolby Atmos, Xiaomi 3D stereo, hi-res audio, and hi-res audio wireless. The use of these four speakers is promised to produce immersive sound for its users. The combination of Dolby Atmos for sound and Dolby Vision is claimed to bring its own experience to enjoy content.
Battery
The battery used in the Pad 5 has a capacity of 8,720 mAh and is supported by a 22.5W charger in the sales package. This battery allows Pad 5 to be used non-stop for almost 10 hours, of course not for playing heavy games non-stop, but for varied uses. Charging is also relatively fast for such a large capacity, approximately 2 hours from empty to full. This makes it easier for users to use the Pad 5 for a long time, both for work and for entertainment.
RAM and storage
To support user productivity, Pad 5 also supports the split screen feature for multitasking. Well, for this purpose, the available RAM is quite spacious, which is 6GB with the LPDDR4X type.
