Chinese Embassy Angry Sinovac Vaccine Called Low Quality

In Thailand, some have accused the Sinovac vaccine, which is widely used by the country's population, of low quality and less effective in preventing the Corona virus. This angered the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok and rebutted via social media.

"The Chinese government is delivering the Sinovac vaccine to Thailand at the first opportunity we can to help the country fight COVID-19 even though the demand for vaccines in China is still high and production capabilities are still not viable," the Chinese embassy wrote on Facebook.

The delivery of the vaccine was said to be a sign of China's friendship with Thailand. Regarding its quality in fighting the Corona virus, it can be accounted for.

"The vaccine sent by the Chinese government has been approved by WHO for emergency use and passed the required trial in Thailand. This vaccine is safe, effective and fully certified in terms of quality," they added.

Furthermore, the Chinese Embassy added that clinical tests in Chile revealed that the Sinovac vaccine was more than 86% effective in preventing severe symptoms and death among Corona sufferers. Then a study in Indonesia showed the Sinovac vaccine was 95% effective in preventing patients from dying.

"However, there are certain parties and people in Thailand who accuse Sinovac of inferior quality and efficacy against COVID-19. This accusation completely ignores scientific evidence and undermines China's goodwill for Thailand," the Chinese embassy continued.

They also asked the parties to stop their accusations against the Sinovac vaccine. However, these accusations will not stop China's assistance to Thailand. "We will continue to help Thailand with sincerity and goodwill with both countries," they concluded.
