Google Photos Locked Folder Feature Will Be Extended To Many Devices

At I/O 2021, Google showed off a new feature called Locked Folder in Photos. With this feature, users can save certain photos that others don't want to see in a special folder.

The folder can only be opened using a fingerprint or PIN, or other security systems that exist on the cellphone. Photos stored in this Locked Folder will also not appear in other gallery applications on the cellphone.

You no longer need to worry or even fear when a friend looking at the photo will scroll 'too far' and see a photo you don't want to show. Initially this feature was only available for Pixel phones, but the good news is that Google will be bringing more of this feature to many other devices.

Google will be expanding to Android devices already running Android 6.0 or later.

Google says users who accept the Locked Folder feature will get a notification on their device and will ask the user to set it up.

This is of course ensured that the user must have the Google Photos application on their phone and the device must also be running Android 6.0 or later, otherwise you will not receive this notification.

Unfortunately, Google only this feature will be launched 'soon' but did not mention when exactly the feature will be officially released.
