iOS 15 Released, Immediately Upgrade or Wait?

Apple is releasing iOS 15 today, Monday, September 20 at 10 am Cupertino time, United States. Want to upgrade right away or wait?

In addition to iOS 15, Apple will also release iPadOS 15, watchOS 8, tvOS 15, and HomePodOS 15. Maybe you can't wait, yes, to try out the new iOS. But it seems a bit longer waiting is a wiser choice.

Waiting a week or two before installing iOS 15 would probably be a wise choice. The reason is, even though iOS 15 has gone through a fairly long testing period, it is likely that there will still be bugs stored in it.

Historically, almost all newly released iOS versions to the public still have bugs that are quite annoying. For example in iOS 14, where the default settings of the browser and email keep changing every time the user restarts the device and various other bugs.

During the beta period, iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 were also plagued with various bugs, and they may have been fixed before the OS was released to the public. But it could still be there, even though the bug might not stop the device from operating, but it would still be annoying.

Plus, according to Cnet who tested the iOS 15 beta, the 3rd build was even worse than the previous build. Apps keep crashing for no reason, then the keyboard repeatedly stops working on iPad Pro.

So when is the best time to update to iOS 15 and iPadOS 15? When referring to issues that occur in iOS 14, the existing problems are fixed within a week after iOS 14 is released. So maybe waiting a week or two would be better.

But don't wait too long, because there could be a security hole that opens if you don't update the OS to the latest version, as Apple did in iOS 14.8 ago.
