iPhone 13 Predicted Hard to Compete with iPhone 12

The iPhone 12 was a huge success for Apple. The proof, according to the research bureau Counterpoint Research recently, in just 7 months since its release, the iPhone 12 has sold more than 100 million units. This achievement is predicted to be difficult to match by the iPhone 13, which will soon be officially launched.

iPhone 12 attracts attention with its photography capabilities and also for the first time there is 5G support. Well, the iPhone 13 probably won't bring a major update. Maybe there will be improvements in the camera or battery sector, but no wow factor.

"Why do we need to upgrade to the iPhone 13? That's the biggest question," said Ramon Llamas, research director at IDC.

According to him, Apple needs to provide one or two important breakthroughs so that people are immediately interested in changing devices. "Now that the first wave of 5G is over, Apple needs to show the features it deserves to get people to upgrade," Llamas said.

"We can expect improved camera features, but it has been common for years. Likewise with faster processors and faster battery charging," said Llamas.

However, who knows there will be surprises in the iPhone 13. If not, the latest iPhone will still sell well even though it is not projected to be as stable as the iPhone 12. Llamas agrees that there will still be many people upgrading, but not as much as before.

However, there is also an optimistic tone from the other side. "Demand for the iPhone 12 remains strong even in a typically weak quarter. While carriers are still expanding their 5G coverage, I expect upgrades to the iPhone 13 to remain strong," said Avi Greengart, analyst at Techsponential.
