During the launch event, Apple boasted that the iPhone 13 Pro Max battery was more durable than its predecessor. It turns out to be true, this cellphone has a longer battery life than the iPhone 12 Pro Max, it can even beat the ranks of Android flagship devices that have a larger capacity.
It was Youtuber TechDroider who did the testing. He compared the battery life of the iPhone 13 Pro Max with its predecessors iPhone 12 Pro Max, and OnePlus 9 Pro, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Mi 11 Ultra.
TechDroider simulates the daily tasks of users such as surfing the web and social media, watching Youtube and playing games. Where all Android smartphones are set to Full HD screen resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Similarly, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is set in Full HD + screen resolution with a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max is set at a refresh rate of 60Hz.
Starting the first and toughest test by playing the PUBG Mobile game with maximum settings. The results show that after more than 2 hours 30 minutes, the iPhone 13 Pro Max dropped only 29%, while the Android competitor and even the iPhone 12 Pro Max dropped to more than 50% of the battery capacity.
The second test ran the video on YouTube for approximately 2 hours. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is still the leader with 59% battery remaining while the OnePlus 9 Pro has only 33%, the Mi 11 Ultra has only 34%, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has only 49% and the iPhone 12 Pro Max has only 40%.
TechDroider continued testing with the ability to surf the web for approximately 1 hour. The results showed that the iPhone 13 Pro Max only lost 6% of the battery and still led the way in testing.
The fourth test was to watch Stories on Instagram continuously for about 1 hour. Unexpectedly, the iPhone 13 Pro Max showed its ability to optimize its battery when after more than 7 hours of testing. The battery capacity is still 49%. While the OnePlus 9 Pro is only 12% away, the Mi 11 Ultra is only 11%, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is only 35% and the iPhone 12 Pro Max is only 26%.
The fifth test using the camera for more than 1 hour caused all smartphone models other than the iPhone 13 Pro Max to turn off. The Mi 11 Ultra ran out of battery the fastest, followed by the OnePlus 9 Pro, Galaxy S21 Ultra and iPhone 12 Pro Max. While the iPhone 13 Pro Max still had 21% battery remaining at the end of the camera test.
