Pfizer CEO predicts world will be back to normal in a year from Corona

Good news continues to emerge regarding estimates of when the Corona virus can be controlled and the pandemic ends, so that life can return to normal. Most recently, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla voiced a tone of optimism.

"Within a year, I think we'll be able to get back to normal life," he said in an interview with ABC.

However, it is possible that in order to keep the Corona pandemic under control, people need to be vaccinated once a year. In addition, according to him, it does not mean that new variants of the Corona virus will not appear again.

"I don't think this means that the (Corona) variant is not going to continue to emerge nor is it that we can go on living without being vaccinated. But again, that remains to be seen," he added.

"The strongest scenario in my opinion is, as this virus spreads around the world, new variants will continue to emerge. Also our vaccine will last at least a year and the strongest scenario is annual vaccination, but we don't really know yet, we will have to wait and see the data," he said. Bourla again.

Previously, Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel said the same thing that according to him, the COVID-19 pandemic could end within the next year as increased vaccine production guarantees global supplies to control the Corona virus.

"If you look at the expansion of production capacity across this industry over the last six months, sufficient doses will be available by the middle of next year so that everyone on Earth can be vaccinated. Boosters should also be possible to the extent necessary," he told Swiss newspaper Neue. Zuercher Zeitung.

"Those who are not vaccinated will acquire immunity themselves naturally, because the Delta variant is highly contagious. This way we will end up in a situation similar to the flu," he said.

Asked if that meant the world would return to normal in the second half of next year, he said, "From today, within a year, I assume."
