iPhone 13 Unwrapped in Plastic Continues Apple's Tradition

The iPhone 13 packaging will be marketed without plastic wrap on the grounds that it is more environmentally friendly. This is at the same time continuing Apple's habit of reducing some items in the packaging of the iPhone or on the cellphone itself due to several factors.

Last year, Apple also reduced two important items in the packaging of the iPhone 12. The first 5G phone from the iPhone was sold without a charger and wired earphones.

This new policy was implemented to cut production costs and reduce the price of the iPhone 12. Since it is no longer provided in the box, new iPhone users must purchase EarPods and a charger adapter separately.

At that time, Apple's Vice President of Environmental, Social and Policy Initiatives, Lisa Jackson, said that in addition to cutting production costs, this new policy will also make Apple more environmentally friendly because it reduces waste.

"We hope others will follow suit, making this impact even greater for our planet," Jackson said of Apple's efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

Now the same reason Apple is rolling out as the cause of the removal of plastic wrap on iPhone 13 cases. "This redesigned packaging removes the plastic wrap on the outside, avoids the use of 600 metric tons of plastic and brings Apple closer to its goal of eliminating plastic.

The loss of chargers and earphones on the iPhone 12 itself was widely ridiculed, but eventually many vendors followed Apple's lead. So maybe what happened to the iPhone 13, there will be cellphone manufacturers who also eliminate the plastic packaging.

Apple is indeed quite a trendsetter about 'lost to eliminate'. On the iPhone 7, they also removed the standard headphone jack which has now become something very common.
