The iPhone 13 has just gone on sale in several countries, but leaks about the iPhone 14 are already popping up. The latest leak says the iPhone 14 design will be completely overhauled.
This leak comes from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. In his report, Gurman said the design of the iPhone 14 would be completely changed, but he did not give a hint about the design changes, as quoted from Engadget, Monday (27/9/2021).
If these rumors are true then the iPhone 14 will bring about the biggest changes since the iPhone X which was launched in 2017. As is known, the iPhone X is the first iPhone to have and popularize the notch design.
Minor design changes in the iPhone 13 are apparently a hint that Apple is preparing a more significant design upgrade. Although Gurman did not give a hint about what changes the iPhone 14 will bring, the rumors that have been circulating previously could be a reference.
Like a report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who recently claimed that Apple will eliminate the notch in 2022, starting with the iPhone 14 Pro. This design will be replaced by a punch hole design as used by many Android phones.
This rumor is also reinforced by YouTuber and leaker Jon Prosser who claims to have seen the shape of the iPhone 14 Pro Max without a notch. Prosser also recently shared a render of the design of the iPhone 14 which looks similar to the iPhone 4 with a titanium frame and a thicker frame.
Regarding the iPhone 14 line that will be launched, it is reported that Apple will turn off the iPhone mini variant and focus on the new 'iPhone 14 Max' variant. So it is likely that the iPhone 14 line will consist of the standard variant, Max, Pro, and Pro Max.
As for the Touch ID sensor under the screen, Kuo previously said that Apple is developing this feature but it is not known whether it will be present in the iPhone 14. Kuo said it is possible that this feature will be present in the iPhone output in 2023.
The news about the new iPhone 14 design will certainly make Apple users who are disappointed with the iPhone 13 feel a little happy. Because when the iPhone 13 was launched, many felt the design was too similar to the iPhone 12 and the new features it brought were not so significant.
All these reports are of course still just rumors that have not been confirmed by Apple. Given that the new iPhone 14 will launch next year, it's possible that Apple will make substantial changes before the phone goes into production.
