Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Canceled Launch?

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is rumored to be released in October 2021 after being delayed due to the global chip crisis. But a recent report from South Korea says Samsung will cancel this affordable flagship phone.

South Korean media DDaily reports that Samsung plans to cancel the Galaxy Unpacked event for the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE. The event was originally scheduled to take place in mid-October.

Not only that, a Samsung official also said the company was considering canceling the Galaxy S21 FE and not releasing it, as quoted from Gizmochina, Monday (27/9/2021).

The DDaily report reveals the excellent sales of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 were the reason Samsung canceled the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE. The ongoing global chip crisis is also another reason for this cancellation.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 itself was launched recently with the Snapdragon 888 chipset and a lower price. Since the Galaxy S21 FE will also use the same chip, Samsung reportedly prefers to focus on components and production of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 rather than launching the Galaxy S21 FE.

Even though the signs of the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE have been revealed several times. In July, the successor to the Galaxy S20 FE appeared on Chinese certification body TENAA, indicating its launch will be held soon.

In addition, the Galaxy S21 FE with the Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888 variants has also appeared on the Geekbench site and Google Play Console. The Galaxy S21 FE support page also recently appeared on Samsung's official website indicating its launch will be held in October.

But there is a possibility that the cancellation of the Galaxy S21 FE will only occur in South Korea. This is because South Korean media FN News previously claimed that the Galaxy S21 FE will only be launched in certain countries such as the United States and Europe, and will not be launched in South Korea and Japan.

Last week, Samsung was reported to have started mass production of the Galaxy S21 FE. The tech giant was previously reported to have experienced production problems and was only able to produce 10,000 units of the Galaxy S21 FE this month.
