The design of one of the God of War Ragnarok characters, namely Thor, really surprised many people. However, it also quickly won the hearts of some fans.
The debate also arose, when Raf Grassetti, Art Director of Sony Santa Monica Studio, shared the appearance of this son of Dewa Odin on Twitter. His form is really unexpected, when referring to his might and the Avengers movie.
"My son," wrote Grassetti with a photo of Thor, from a post on his personal Twitter, Tuesday (21/9/2021).
Based on the image uploaded by Grassetti, Thor has a fatter build than the character we know in some films. This creates controversy, splitting the two camps for those who like it and those who don't.

But before being disappointed with the design, maybe gamers should know that the real Thor is indeed in Norse Mythology.
If you refer to the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda, which are the main sources of Norse Mythology, you will actually find it a bit odd. Nicknamed the God of Thunder, he is known to party and drink.
Not a few also like Thor in God of War Ragnarok. As stated by fans on Twitter.
"I'm surprised they decided to model Thor the right way. In Norse Mythology, Thor can drink more than anyone. He reflects this in God of War (GOW). Kudos," wrote the King's Blood account.
As stated by other accounts, that Thor looks closer to the story, than any other version in today's modern media.
God of War Ragnarok itself is the latest series, which will end the story of Nordic Mythology at GOW. For the time being, gamers can only watch the trailer on the PlayStation Youtube channel and it will officially launch on PS4 and PS5, in 2022.
